Working on L-cuts with Rob and Ryan. It’s a cut you'll do in basketball all the time. And being able to score off of it, will make you a better offensive threat
For the last part of our workout, we worked on using the jab jumper, an effective move that can get you open for a shot when a defender is pressuring you.
Another clip of my workout with Aisling, continuing our work off the short roll, with some additional moves
Working on some high post moves off of a short roll such as:
1. Quick Shot (could be a jump shot or floater)
2. Rip Right
3. Rip Left
Some post series work with Aisling, with a focus on these moves:
1. Jump Hook
2. Running Hook
3. Counter
4. Baseline Rip
The last part of my workput with Tom, where we put it all together. From the first to the last part of our workout, we had a structure throughout implementing different skills that compounded in a seamless way
Tom and I worked on some quick trigger shots
Part 2. Tom reacting to my closeout and getting into his pullup
Working on some explosive 1 dribble pullups off a catch with Tom He was sliding to a spot and once he received the ball, he had to cover ground and get to his pullup.
Working on high post moves with Amelia:
1. Rip and Go
2. Jab and Go
3. Rip and Go: Spin
4 Jab and Go: Spin
5. Jab Jumper
Working on some P&R reads with Jamie, looking at different options to score off of.
Some insight into my workout with Amelia , working on some different post finishes:
1. Jump Hook
2. Step Through/Up & Under
3. Drop Step
Part 2 of my workout with Avie-Leigh and Darcy. This time the move was a between cross and exploding into their shot
Some ball handling and shot creation work with Avie-Leigh and her sister Darcy
Brooke was coming off a stagger screen, but instead of shooting immediately, she had to react to me
Part 2 of my workout with Brooke. Same drill, new skill; working on creating separation after doing the dribble move
Part 1 of my workout with Brooke using a ball handling drill to focus on multiple things at once and then finishing with a jumpshot.
Stagger shooting work with Darcy, Darragh, and U16 Irish International Avie-Leigh
Quick tune up session with Rob ahead of his U20 Irish trial working on his drop cross into a shot, and also playing in tight spaces around the basket with different finishes.
Working on off ball movement and reaction work with Jamie to boost scoring efficiency.
Adding a DHO for players to simulate offensive movement
Focusing on using a push pass with a slight relocation to get players moving without the ball and getting ready for a shot
Pt. 2 of creating space on baseline drives by adding in the spin move when cut off by the defender
Working on taking up space on baseline drives with Jamie and Erin
Scenes from my boys and girls skills clinics with Tridents BC during the midterm break🔱
Our very frist all girls skills clinic for beginners. We covered alot of different concepts to help the girls increase their confidence and skill level!
We had a great time at our Pop Up Clinic!
Got alot of reps in on various skills and finished with some 3v3
It’s not about your current skill level, but about the desire to get better. You’ll continue to progres if you understand that growth in basketball doesn’t happen overnight, but through consistent preparation and belief.
Had the pleasure of working out with my guys Robert Dunne of Spire Academy and Scott Reynolds of Stellazzurra Academy
The entire session was based on playing off of two feet!
Playing off of both enables you to stay balanced if you get a slight bump from a defender. It also allows you to use various pivots, giving you access to more shot options
Had the pleasure of working out with Isabel, where we worked on the low post rip and go.
After a quick reverse pivot and face up, the offensive player rips the ball low past the defender and finishes on the other side of the basket.
It's a great move to add to your face up game. There are many counters you can use from it, which allows you to keep defenders on their toes!
Here's the last part of my workout with Daniel—working on our jab jumpers.
It's a quick and simple move to get your shot off in the low or high post.
Read what the defense is giving you—if their hands are down or you want to create some space for your shot, use a jab to make them think!
Here's part 2 of my workout with Daniel—this time we're working out of the high post.
A quick rip and go and then the addition of the spin if the defense cuts you off are moves applicable for all positions on the court.
No need to stand a dribble when you can make a quick and efficient move to the basket, potentially getting an AND-1 in the process
