Coach Conroy Baltimore

It all started in the Bronx, NY. My passion for hooping was developed while playing on blacktops across the city. Respect on the court was earned, not given, and that stuck with me as I matured as a basketball player throughout the years.

When the journey started, I was a scrawny kid, believe it or not. I wasn’t the most skilled or talented. But one thing that separated me from my peers was the determination not to let anybody outwork me, and that served me well.

Having parents from Antigua & Barbuda gave me a certain outlook on life; if you work hard and have faith in the Almighty, things are bound to work out in your favor. And they sure did.

Through the 4 pillars of Box Out Academy: hard work, fun, holistic development, and faith, I was able to have an amazing playing career that spanned over 20 years. I played high school basketball at Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, NY; played 4 years of college ball at Lehigh University, which led to a 7-year professional basketball career in Ireland.

However, as I began my playing career in Ireland, one thing was clear to me: coaching and providing a space for athletes to develop into their best selves on and off the court was my calling.

Basketball provided me with so many opportunities in the US and internationally. It felt natural to want to give back to the game that’s given me so much in my life. And that’s why I created Box Out Academy.

Through the grace of God, I’ve been given a platform where I’ve been able to impact the lives of many athletes worldwide. I want to continue doing my part to ensure they know what is required to have a CHANCE at being successful in basketball.

I’m not here to sugarcoat anything, but rather give you realistic guidance on how to elevate your game to the next level. We’ll work hard, have fun, and develop our minds, bodies, and spirits to make what we learn a lifestyle.

Welcome to the Box Out Academy Family!
